Uses

i)
It is a keratolytic , a mild antiseptic and a
parasiticide .
ii)
It is widely used as a dermatological agent in the
form of lotions and ointments in the treatment of acne , psoriasis , ringworm
, lupus erythematosus , dandruff , seborrhoeic conditions and scabies .
iii)
Lotion of precipitated sulphur with lead acetate is
used to darken grey hair .
iv)
It is also used in homoeopathic medicine
v)
When it is taken by mouth , sulphur is converted into
alkalini sulphides in the intestine
which produce laxative effect by their irritant effect ..
