i)
Hypophosphorus Acid is used as an antioxidant .
ii)
Hypophosphorus Acid were used in tonics earlier .
iii)
It prevents the formation of free iodine in diluted
Hcl and hydriodic acid syrup .
iv)
It also prevents the formation of both ferric ions an
d molecular iodine in ferrous iodine syrup .
v)
Salts of Hypophosphorus Acid like sodium and ammonium
hypophosphite are present as preservatives in certain food and preparations .
