i)
Sodium Metabisulphite is a strong reducing agent and
is used as antioxidant in pharmaceutical preparation .

It is used as a preservatives in acidic solutions and
syrups .

Side Effect

Ingestion of metasulphide causes gastric irritation .
Large dosage causes gastrointestinal upsets ., respiratory or circulatory
failure and central nervous system disturbance .
