6	Uses	i)                    It is used as barrier cream for protecting the skin against water soluble irritants . ii)                   Creams , lotions and ointments containing silicon polymers are employed for the prevention of bedsores and n apkin rash and to protect the skin against trauma to colostomy discharge . iii)                 It is also used as lubricants for hypodermic syringes and in the treatment of flatulence .
7	Side Effect	Injection of silicon-polymers may cause granulomatour reaction and also contact with eye should be avoided .
8	Storage	It is stored in airtight container .
