Uses
i)                    It is used in the treatment of metabolic acidosis                   ( increase in  acidity ) because it is an electrolyte replenisher and systemic allkalinising agent .
ii)                   It is used in  diarrhea because it is an electrolyte replenisher and systemic allkalinising agent
iii)                 It is used in acute poisioning from acidic drug because it is an electrolyte replenisher and systemic allkalinising agent .
iv)                 It is used as eye lotion .
v)                  It is used as ear drops .
vi)                 It is used as antacid to relief dyspepsia .

Side Effect
Administration by mouth it can cause stomach cramps , flatulence . Large quantity may cause alkalosis and vertigo , jerky and muscular movement etc .
