Uses
i)                    It is used as gastric antacid .
ii)                   It buffers the gastric acid and so raises the pH and reduces acid induced damage .
iii)                 It is used as a phosphate binder in patients with chronic renal failure .
iv)                 It is used as an adjuvant in the manufacturing of absorbed vaccines .
v)                  It is also used in antiperspirants and dentifrices .
vi)                 It forms a protective coating over the ulcer crater because I has astringent and demulcent properties .

Side Effect
It may cause nausea , vomiting and constipation . large doses can cause intestinal obstruction .

It is stored in airtight containers at a temperature not exceeding 30*c .
